New York City never ceases to amaze with its ever-taller and more innovative skyscrapers. We recently completed the new LYRA, a 53-story tower overlooking the Hudson River, opposite the famous Javits Center conference center. The project, by award-winning Argentine architect Pelli Clark Pelli, will feature 598 luxury apartments with sweeping views of the cityscape and river. The tower also offers residents a range of exclusive amenities, such as a sky lounge, golf simulator, squash court, fitness center and co-working station.
The tower is just the latest addition to the blocks between 10th and 11th Avenues, north of the Hudson Yards mega-site, one of the largest real estate development projects in the United States. LYRA Building is located at 555 West 38th Street, a few blocks south of the Lincoln Tunnel entrance.
The tower rises from street level in large, relatively rectangular planes, and features a mid-rise setback that creates the illusion of two distinct towers, separated by a beveled edge along the structure's centerline. The smaller tower is slightly inclined. The 172-foot pricial tower offers residents one of the main attractions of this project: uninterrupted views of the Hudson River.

The facade consists of approximately 67,000 square meters of cellular facade, equipped with 1,400 vertical and horizontal sashes and fins. Horizontal aluminum fins characterize the surface of the building, while its character is determined by the metal panels that inlay the facade, interrupting the blue glass.
