The Greenpoint, a new waterfront complex in Brooklyn.
Located at 21 India Street, The Greenpoint directly overlooks the India Street Ferry Terminal along the East River. Separated from the group of new towers rising on the waterfront by the Williamsburg Bridge and Greenpoint Landing to the north, it is the tallest skyscraper in the borough. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Mack Real Estate Group, the 39-story residential development has 500 units comprised of properties and rentals. The entire 392-foot-tall project covers 454,502 square feet.
ILA designed the mixed-use high-rise structure, as well as the surrounding townhouse units and waterfront esplanade, creating a unique community designed to integrate and connect with its context. Shaped like a diamond, Greenpoint's high-rise structure maximizes views of the Manhattan skyline. The building's glass faces are designed to reflect the effects of sunrise and sunset, transforming at night with special lighting.
A Window Wall system was used in the Grenn point The system consists of pre-assembled modules mounted from inside the building, ensuring speed of implementation and ease of maintenance. The modules consist of opaque or transparent, fixed or opening panels, which can be made of different materials, such as glass, steel, plastic polymers, or aluminum.
The advantage of the window wall system is that it combines aesthetics with first-rate performance in terms of thermal insulation, air and water tightness compatible with American standards.
