The Waves Actisud shopping center is a true architectural and commercial gem located in the agglomeration of Metz, France. Its project was first unveiled in January 2011, with the ambitious goal of creating 43,000 square meters of commercial space and an investment of 100 million euros. Originally scheduled to open in spring 2015, the grand opening was finally celebrated on October 31, 2014, making Waves Actisud the first Open Sky Shopping Center built by the renowned Compagnie de Phalsbourg.
But Waves Actisud is not just a shopping mall; it is a living place that offers much more than shopping. Inside, a lush garden hides the parking lot, while a lake surrounds the restaurants and hosts free stage and light shows. Wrapped in a unique building, the structure creates a unique and welcoming atmosphere. A pedestrian promenade extends along the interior façade, creating a continuous and homogeneous commercial front.
Gianni Ranaulo's architecture gave Waves Actisud a contemporary and innovative feel, earning it prestigious recognition from L'Express, which listed it among the "40 projects that will change France" in July 2013. The mall's structure features a mirror-polished stainless steel toiture that forms a large wave movement visible from the A31 highway, thus becoming the building's true façade.
Waves Actisud is designed to offer innovative services that enrich the shopping experience. These include free electric shuttles that transport customers from store to store, a VIP lounge dedicated to the most loyal customers, and a multi-channel loyalty program. In addition, there are numerous activities for children throughout the year, making Waves Actisud an ideal place for families.
With more than 5 million visitors a year, Waves Actisud contributes significantly to the commercial rayonnement of the city of Metz and its surrounding area. Built in partnership with Les Arches Métropole, the shopping center is an example of excellence in the union of contemporary architecture, commerce and entertainment, confirming its position as a landmark in the region.
