The Due Drydock project stands as a bridge between the robust industrial tradition of Boston's Seaport neighborhood, a fast-growing area, and an innovative vision of the future. The investors behind this ambitious project clearly defined their goal: to create "a place where a future-oriented society can thrive and explore innovative potential."
Masterfully designed by renowned architecture firm SGA, the building will be positioned next to the Marine Wharf Hotel, with ground-floor retail space, a vibrant 12,100-square-foot public plaza overlooking Drydock Avenue, and a lavish 700-square-foot rooftop terrace.
Due Drydock is a massive 230,000-square-foot office facility with an authentic industrial feel. The architecture of the neighborhood inspired its massing, and the best practices of green building and environmental sustainability were incorporated in its creation. The building's plan and architectural concept are intelligently conceived, fluidly conveying from the social and community environment to flexible work spaces. The design embodies a clear sense of "place," focusing on the experience of the people who will inhabit it. The architectural environment promotes creativity and well-being, transforming a previously vacant site into a contemporary building that will serve as a landmark in the increasingly populated RFMP area of new buildings and business centers.
Due Drydock required the design, engineering, and construction of an exceptional facade, including 69,200 square feet of Curtain Walls, 9,300 square feet of Mullion and Transom system, and 22,300 square feet of wire mesh with vertical fins.
